Funds will support local water project

Washington, DC - Congressman John Adler announced that the Wrightstown Municipal Utilities Authority will receive a $621,247 grant from the economic recovery package. This grant money will be used for the replacement of water and sewer lines in the Fort Dix Street area. The project is one of only nine in the country.

"Too often New Jersey towns get the short end of the stick from Washington," said Congressman Adler. "I'm pleased Wrightstown received this funding, which will save local taxpayers money and provide safe drinking water for our families."

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding announced today is being administered by USDA Rural Development's Water and Environmental Program which provides loans and grants to ensure that the necessary investments are made in water and wastewater infrastructure to deliver safe drinking water and protect the environment in rural areas.
